Yolanda Carol Agent ("JoJo") was the youngest child born to Hortense and the late Robert Henry Allen of Harrisburg and Library, Pennsylvania. "JoJo" was given the middle name Carol for being born on December 26, 1955, a day after Christmas.
Before graduating from John Harris High School in Harrisburg, JoJo lived in West Germany where she attended junior high school, completed a cake decorating course, performed with American choral groups, and toured Europe as a first soprano soloist. Later, she attended Howard University under a scholarship for the music education and drama program in the school of fine arts and obtained a technical certificate from the Medical Arts Training School in Washington, DC.
Upon returning to Harrisburg, JoJo became a wife and mother to a daughter and four sons who were highly influenced by her big heart and personality. She had a great impact on everyone she met, particularly because of her abilities to be straight forward and make people laugh. Jojo was also known for her exceptional cooking skills. She could really "burn the pots." Her children will forever marvel over the extravagant meals she prepared for special occasions.
JoJo made many face-to-face connections with people in the Harrisburg community due to over twenty years of service as a dental assistant at Hamilton Health Center, certified cosmetologist, and lead singer in Raphael, a local rhythm & blues band. She cared deeply about the community she lived in and her fellow coworkers, including those at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and completing Star Magazine crossword puzzles.
Yolanda Carol Agent was preceded in death by husband, Charles Anthony Agent, and brother, Robert E. Allen.
