"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose" William (Bill) S. Pollard, Jr., 67, of Rudy Road, Harrisburg, passed at home with his family by his side on Sunday, March 8, 2009. Bill as he was fondly known was the son of the late Romaine and William S. Pollard Sr., reared in Steelton, and retired from UGI as a Sales Manager in the Harrisburg Branch. He was a Navy Veteran and a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. His affiliation's and memberships include; a member and Past Master of Paxton Lodge #16 F&AM, member of Nimrod Consistory #9, a 33rd Degree Mason of the United Supreme Council, a Past Potentate of Himyar #17 and a former Deputy of the Oasis of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Prince Hall Affiliate. Bill leaves to celebrate his life and memory his loving wife Brenda D. (Napper) Pollard, 3 children; Lynn A. Washington (Michael), William S. Pollard (Annette) and Shari A. Pollard (fiancAC. - Jason Griddine) all of Harrisburg, 7 siblings; Romaine E. Brown of Harrisburg, Lucinda M. Parker of Maryland, Herbert S. Pollard of New Jersey, Walter S., Donald S. and David S. Pollard all of Harrisburg, Michael S. Pollard of Florida, 8 grandchildren; William (BJ) S. Pollard IV, Erika A. Pollard, Michelle L. Price, Eric R. Cole, Todd W. Price Jr., Christopher W. Price, Ashely S. Cohen and Matthew H. Cohen, 4 great-grandchildren; Jayle D. Pollard, Jaiden R. Pollard, Aaliyah L. Mercado and Jace R. Cole, special family members, Gleynda Pollard and Eloise Mosby, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Services will be held at his church, 20 Locust Street, Steelton on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 11:00 am, viewing starting at 9:00 am and Masonic Services starting at 10:00 am. The Pollard family is appreciative of the enormous love and support shown to them during their time of bereavement, Hooper Memorial, Inc. is caring for and handling Mr. Pollard's arrangements.
