Wayne Douglas Fields passed peacefully at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. He was born on July 16, 1952 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Kenneth E. Fields and Christina V. Fields; he was predeceased by his brother Donald Fields. Wayne was raised in Edgemont and graduated from Susquehanna Township High School. He served 8 years in the United States Air Force, 15 years as a Supervisor for the Tri-State Recycling Center and retired as a Foreman from the PA State Farm Show Complex, Commonwealth of PA.
His passion in life was gardening; he also loved his family, sports and spending time in the outdoors. He enjoyed music and working and was an excellent automobile mechanic and could make most things work. Wayne was a loving, caring and humble man; he would extend himself to his children, his grandchildren, to his family and his friends, often without being asked.
In 2006 he married Ava (Fernsler) Fields; they spent fifteen loving and wonderful years together. Wayne also leaves behind his 2 loving daughters, Amber and Andrea Fields, 2 grandsons, Jayant Bullet and Mason Fields, sister Janet Fields Caldwell, brother Kenneth B. and wife, Carolyn Fields, step-children; Tara Keller, Nick Labarre and Jacquelyn Fernsler and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He also leaves his special cousins Tonja Jackson and Marvin Palmer Jr. (Pap)
