Wallace V. Matthews

On September 30, 2016, Wallace V. Matthews passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.  He was born on January 8, 1946 in Washington, DC.  He was the son of the late William O. and Mary F. (Williams) Matthews Sr.   Wallace was preceded in death by his twin brother, William O. Matthews Jr.  He retired from the Pennsylvania Air National Guard as a Senior Master Sergeant after 33 years of service, and was a Vietnam Veteran. He also worked at Nestle Purina as a guard for a number of years. Wallace was a member of the American Legion Post 733, Harrisburg Regulators, and the Air Force Association.  He enjoyed playing racquet ball, basketball, jazz and wine fests, driving to new places and dining out.  
Wallace is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne (Johnson) Matthews of 37 years.  He is also survived by his brother, Robert P. Matthews Sr. and his wife Diane of Harrisburg, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
