Virginia Elizabeth Ware

Virginia Elizabeth Ware, affectionately known as "Ginger," was born on September 14, 1958, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Armond.

Ginger's educational journey began at Susquehanna Township High School, where she graduated in 1976. She furthered her studies at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and later earned degrees in Criminal Justice from Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) and Penn State Harrisburg.

For over 20 years, Ginger served with dedication as a Clerical Processor for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation before retiring. In her retirement, she found joy and purpose as a school van driver for Rohrer and Boyo Transportation, where her warmth and kindness made her a cherished presence among children and families.

Known for her infectious personality, Ginger embraced life with passion and enthusiasm. She loved shopping, indulging in self-care at nail salons, and creating delicious meals that brought loved ones together. A devoted music enthusiast, she enjoyed attending local events and spent countless hours at The Central Penn Fitness Center, particularly enjoying the pool and spin classes.

Ginger's faith was a cornerstone of her life. As a dedicated member of First Zion Baptist Church, she served in numerous roles, including President of the Pastor's Aide, choir member, and active participant in The Ladies Auxiliary and Church Council. Her vibrant laughter, unique expressions, and magnetic personality made her the life of every gathering, spreading joy and love wherever she went.

On December 18, 2024, at the age of 66, Ginger peacefully transitioned from earthly labor to heavenly reward. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children, Brandon Armond Ware and Giovanni Annette Ware; seven treasured grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Ginger was preceded in death by her loving husband, Brandon Ervin Ware; her brother, Jeffery Blake Armond; her sister, Kay R. Summerford; her great-aunt, Hermeaner Douglas of Norfolk, VA; and her sister-in-law, Margie Watson.

Ginger's vibrant spirit, filled with love and laughter, will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of joy and compassion will endure forever.

A celebration of Ginger's extraordinary life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at First Zion Baptist Church of Edgemont, 1500 Edgemont Road, Harrisburg, PA. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 am with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Floral tributes and gifts in her memory may be sent directly to the church.
