Victoria Smalls

Victoria Smalls, 72 years old, of West Hanover Township, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on April 29, 2022, surrounded by her immediate family. Victoria, a daughter of Rev. H. B. Bady and Martha Bady; was born in Augusta, Georgia on May 31, 1949.  Victoria graduated from Lucey Laney High school in Augusta, Georgia and completed her Bachelor of Science in biology from Talladega College in Talladega, Alabama. Victoria then completed the School of Medical Technology program at the Harrisburg Hospital in Pennsylvania. After 35 years, Victoria retired from the role of Supervisor of Clinical Hematology at the Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center in September of 2016.  Next to her family, she had a passion for providing the best quality care for all patients and their family in the hospital.

In all her many roles and relationships, Victoria found great joy in serving others in her home and the community. Modeled after the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31, this kind and gentle woman enjoyed making her house ahome for family and friends by taking pleasure in cooking, sewing, decorating, entertaining and supporting others in getting their basic needs met, whether that included finding a job or even a place to live. Over the years of attending the Hershey Free Church since 1985 and serving with her husband in many ministries, Victoria enjoyed past sessions of encouraging couples in the Premarital Counseling program. She also took pleasure in volunteering in the community with the Love INC Parsonage Ministry of Love INC of Greater Hershey.

Victoria is preceded in death by her parents Rev. Henry and Martha Bady, and her sister Marjorie West. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Rev. Irvine Smalls, her twins, Irvine Jr. and Yemonja; sisters Dr. Ernestine Davis, Hannah Dowdell, Phyllis Elbert, Claudianell Cooper, Claudianett Williams, her brother Henry Bady and many dear friends. The Smalls family will celebrate Victoria’s homegoing privately. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please send love donations to the American Diabetes Association of the Harrisburg Chapter.
