Vera Greer

Vera Lee Greer 79, of Harrisburg passed peacefully on June 27, 2024, at home with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late William Lee Hodges and Lousie Brown.

 Vera was a dedicated employee with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania General Services Department for more than 20 years. She visited Victory, Mt. Calvary and various churches in her community. She was part of a Prison Ministry and loved bible study. Vera was a strong Christian woman and would often attend other church’s bible study groups. She served many faithful years with the Society of Volunteer Women Ministries, working with the clothing and food distribution, annual banquet, and One Hundred Women in Purple service. Vera was a woman of God and believed in the power of prayer. Her passion was volunteering and helping others, most importantly she loved being with her family. 

Along with her parents she is preceded by her daughter Viola Lee Greer. She leaves to celebrate her life, children, Evelyn Greer Thomas, Elizabeth Libby Ruby, Shapale Coleman-Carpenter, siblings; Jeanette, Richard, Phyllis, Delbert (Hakeem), Kenneth, grandchildren; George, Calvin, Miracle, Princess, Patience, great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Jah’Sire, nieces, nephews, other family members to include, Frankie, Alex, Brian, Dejuanne, Josh, the Nuñez family, and a host of other relatives and friends.

 A special thanks to everyone along with Ms. Cindy, Ms. Dot, Ms. Penny, Ms. Jackie, and Ms. Sheila.
