The family, daughters Gwenavere Wooten and Patricia Young, with seven garndchildren of Ulysses Allen Providence, 93, formerly of Harrisburg will host a tribute to their father in the Hooper Memorial Home Inc.Friday May 19th at 11AM with viewing at 10. Ulysses played professional basketball while in Harrisburg and became the first black referee here. he was also a WWII Vet. Later in life he worked for the second largest and richest oil company in the world, Aramco-Arabian Oil Company where he became manager of the lithography department.Ulysses passed May 12th in Charlotte, N.C. and the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be his final resting place.
