Steven David Plant, 50, of Harrisburg, PA, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Holy Spirit Hospital following a sudden illness. He was born in Harrisburg on October 14, 1959, the youngest son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Plant. Steve was educated in the Harrisburg School System. Previous employments include Industrial Building Maintenance Co., PA Department of Revenue, and Fruehauf Trailer Corp., B.P. Co., Olivetti, PP&L and various taxi cab companies. At the time of his death, he was employed by Keystone Cab Co. Steve was a kind-hearted person who was always willing to go out of his way to help others. When Steve was not working, he enjoyed watching Barrett-Jackson classic car auctions on television, cooking and spending quality time with his family and dear friends.
Surviving are two sons, Steven Gaither of Harrisburg, PA and Christopher Plant of Dallas, Texas; one granddaughter, Victoria Elizabeth Gaither-Wilson; one sister, Phyllis (Plant) Palmer-Hinnant (William), Harrisburg, PA; two brothers, Charles Plant (Tonia), Austell, Georgia, and Ronald Plant, Harrisburg, PA; a long time friend, Kathy Williams, and endearing relationships with James, Leslie, Ivan, Bobbie and Rechinda. He will also be mourned by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. A celebration of Steven's life will be held at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc., 3532 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA on Friday, August 13, 2010, at 11:00 AM,; viewing at 10:00 AM and burial at William Howard Day Cemetery, Steelton, PA.
