Steven Jerome Brown, known affectionately as “Stevie” and “Voit,” was born on Thursday, May 1, 1969, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Roberta Ann Brown and the late James Robert Henderson.
Stevie received his formal education in the Harrisburg School District and later worked as a forklift operator and a traffic controller for Flagger Force. Always seeking new adventures, he was an aspiring entrepreneur, constantly searching for the next opportunity to invest in.
Stevie was a big love and light to so many people. His presence was larger than life, and his spirit was just as grand. He had a smile so big it could light up any room, and his laugh was truly infectious so contagious that you couldn’t help but smile and laugh along with him.
In his free time, Stevie was an avid player of both pool and chess. He was also a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He had a great appreciation for good food and took pride in always looking 'FLY.' Above all, he loved reading the Word and sharing God’s love with those around him. Stevie had a kind and generous heart, always willing to help those in need.
Above all, Stevie adored his daughter, Kiesha Besha, and his grandsons, Leem and Lik. They were the joys of his life, and he never missed a chance to show up for them whether it was attending their sports games, planning and taking trips together, or simply making sure their little hearts were full of love and happiness.
At 55 years of age, on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), Stevie transitioned from this earthly life into eternal peace. He was preceded in transition by his parents.
Stevie will be greatly missed by his loving daughter, Lakiesha Mae Stewart of Harrisburg; his grandsons, Saleem Laron and Salik Jaron Bethea, also of Harrisburg; His partner and devoted soul-mate V. Santia Maldonado, his siblings, Barry Rector of Harrisburg, Sabbo Brown of Wilkes-Barre, and Anthony Brown Sr. of Harrisburg; and a host of nieces and nephews: Anthony, Aveyon, and Carmainez Brown, Alicia, Deon, Sabbo and Sebastian and Barry II. He also leaves behind his uncles, Ronald and Robert Brown, Leroy and Marty Henderson, and Jeffrey Ford; his aunts, Rosie Motes, Linda and Joan Henderson, and Roberta Ford; and countless loving cousins, close friends who became brothers, and loved ones who were like family.
Though Stevie is no longer physically with us, his light, love, that smile, and unforgettable laughter will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
