Steve Lynn Stephens

Steve Lynn Stephens was born on August 18, 1945, in Newport News, VA, to Robert Flynn and Bernice Stephens.

Steve graduated from William Penn High School in Harrisburg, PA. He worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Services as a printer and retired after 35 years of service.

Steve was a member of Lingo Memorial Church of God In Christ, where he served as a member of the praise team and enjoyed playing the bongos. Continuing his love of music, Steve was a member of the musical group, “The Emperors” that formed in the early 1960s, which was later inducted into the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame in 2021.

Steve enjoyed birdwatching, along with watching the nature channel, football, and one of his favorite movies, Indiana Jones.

In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his father, Robert Flynn, step-father, Leonard Booker, siblings, Shelton Stephens, Caron White, Robert Flynn, Darryl Flynn, and Ronald Flynn. 

Steve is survived by his devoted wife, Sheryl Stephens; children, Felicia (Terry) Pierce, Steve A. Stephens, Denise Garell, Veronica Coble, McKendrick Coble, and Sandra (Thomas) Burhannan; siblings, James (Valerie) Flynn, Marshall Flynn, Keith Flynn, and Deborah Flynn; 16grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
