"There's an open gate at the end of the road"
Sidney A. Dickason Sr., 83, passed peacefully at home on Sunday, March 16, 2008. He was born in Roncevert W. Virginia on June 24, 1924 to the late Sidney A. Dickason and Cleo Haynes Dickason Blakey. Mr. Dickason retired from the Federal Government, working in Public Relations; an Army Veteran of WWII, 761st all Black Tank Battalion Unit serving with Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson under General George S. Patton. He leaves to celebrate his life and memory; his loving wife, Collette Dickason of Harrisburg, two children, Sidney Dickason, Jr. of Harrisburg and Rhonda Dickason Stevenson of Maryland, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Services in his honor will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2008 in Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. at 12 Noon, viewing at 11:00 a.m. and internment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The family greatly appreciates your love and kindness during their time of sorrow and bereavement. A special thanks to Asera Care Hospice Services who provided personal and dedicated care and also to Fredrick (Fred) Bowling of CNA who provided excellent daily care with loving concern.
