Reflections on The Life Of
Sister Sara Elizabeth (Lenon) Benjamin
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy Chapter 4 Verse 7
Life began for Sara Elizabeth (Lenon) Benjamin on January 11, 1947 in Bartow, Florida. She was born to the union of the late Willie Lenon and the late Sarah (Dorsey) Lenon. She was the second of 3 children.
Sara was a graduate of Bartow High School. She was a nurse for 30 years; her specialty was hospice care. Sara had a heart for helping and caring for others around her.
In her leisure Sara enjoyed attending church, decorating homes, shopping, listening to her favorite gospel music, being on the internet, watching TV shows, enjoyed conversation and praising God. Sara had a great sense of humor and she was easy to love.
On August 3, 2014 Sara joined The Mount Calvary Church of God in Christ under the pastorate of Superintendent D. R. Gilmore. She had already accepted Christ as her Personal Savior. She served on the Pastor’s Aide Auxiliary and she was faithful in attending Sunday School where she enjoyed learning about the word of God. She was an encouragement and showed love to everyone.
On Monday January 31, 2022 in Camp Hill, PA, Sara Benjamin, 75, received her request to be released from the pains of this life and transitioned to a permanent home in heaven with the King of Kings, she got her wings and went home to meet Jesus.
In addition to her parents, Sara was also preceded in death by her beloved sister; Ms. Dale Washington.
Sara’s life and legacy will be cherished by her husband; Sherlon Benjamin of Deerfield Beach, Fl.; her sister Mary Reid, her daughters; Sharon L. Williams and Sheila Y. (James) Askins of Harrisburg, PA, her sons; Christopher C. Benjamin Sr. (Louquilla Thomas) of Harrisburg, PA and Shawn J. Benjamin (Larry Ferrell) of Lithonia, GA., Her grandchildren; Everett Williams, Chandrenie Washington, Christopher C. Benjamin Jr., Sheilica White and Na’Jylah Benjamin of Harrisburg, PA along with eight great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
To be absent from the body is to be with Christ who died and paid a ransom for mankind to be redeemed back to the Father. We will see you again in the rapture.
LOVINGLY SUBMITTED BY HER FAMILY
