Rufus Slade Jr.

Rufus Slade Jr., 87 of Harrisburg, passed peacefully on February 1, 2016 in Community General Osteopathic Hospital. Rufus was the son of the late Rufus and Viola Jackson-Slade. He was an Army Veteran, retired from New Cumberland Army Depot as an Aircraft and Helicopter Technician and from Highmark in Security.  Rufus was a member of Ephriam Slaughter American Legion Post #733; he enjoyed westerns, the Nationals and was an avid Washington Redskins fan. Rufus leaves his wife Dorothy J. Slade, children; Rosalyn (John) Proctor, Yvonne “Vonnie” Jackson and Ronald (Jackie) Slade, siblings; Ruby Beverly, Irvin Slade, Helen Bryant and Willie Slade Sr. (Mary), three generations of grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
