Robert H. George Sr

"When I come to the end of my journey and traveled my last weary mile..."

Robert H. George Sr., 92 of Harrisburg, passed peacefully on Monday, April 30, 2012 in Osteopathic - Community General Hospital. Robert was a World War II Veteran; former employee of Olmsted Air Force Base, New Cumberland Army Depot and Letterkenny Army Depot with 38 years of total service. He was also employed as a Job Counselor for the Senior Community Service Employment Program. Robert was also a member of American Legion Post #733 and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Bessie W. George, daughters; Carol L. Ricks and Beatrice J. Jones, siblings; Mary Keesee, Lillian Lewis and Irvin A. George. Yet survived and celebrated by his children; Barbara A. Bryson, Vicki L. George, Aprile D.Greene, Sgt. Donna E. Brown, Michael A. George, Robert H. George Jr., Gordon A. George and Gregory L. George, one brother; Eugene R. George; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Hooper Memorial Home, 10:00 viewing, 11:00 service with burial in William Howard Day Cemetery.
