Robert Dennis 71 of North 14th Street passed peacefully at home Saturday September 13th with family and friends by his side. Robert was a retired employee of the railroad, member of the American Legion Post 733, Air Force veteran, and was the first African American who played in the Little League World Series game in Williamsport, PA. He loved sports, fishing and hunting.
Robert leaves to mourn his children Karen Johnson, Robyn Bailey (Kelvin), Robert Dennis III (Rhonda), Annette Waters (Lynn) and Robyn Lewis (Henry). He also leaves his siblings Kathleen Nardose, Winifred Miller, Carol Ann Dennis, Melvin, Larry, Ralph, Lloyd and John Dennis.
Robert's life will be memorialized in the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Thursday September 18th at 11AM with viewing at 10. His final resting place will be in the Blue Ridge Cemetery.
