Reverend Leonard T. Smiley Sr

Reverend Leonard T. Smiley Sr., 88 and an Army Veteran, passed with God's grace and mercy on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Lebanon VA Hospital. He retired from Grinnell Steel, Inc. in Columbia, PA with over 20 years of service. He also enjoyed cooking; gardening, reading his bible, walking and playing with his grandchildren. Rev. Smiley was the Associate Minister of New Hope Living Baptist Church, where he served the Lord for over 35 years, never a day without praising God first. Rev. Smiley leaves to celebrate his life and memory his devoted wife, Carrie B. Smiley, four children; Dolly, Rose Marie, Lenora and Leonard Smiley, Jr., with 9 siblings including 8 sisters and his brother, Howard Smiley, 23 grand, 40 great-grand and 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was also predeceased by 2 daughters; Daisy Mae and Mattie Mae. Services will be held in his honor at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., viewing 10:00 a.m. and burial in Indiantown Gap Cemetery.
