Rev. Robert E. Pierce Sr., 88 of Harrisburg, affectionately known as âBobby the Mailmanâ passed peacefully on December 6, 2016. He was the son of the late Charles Pierce Sr. and Olive Hinton Pierce, predeceased by his wife Shirley Pierce and granddaughter Tarina Fields. Robert served in the US Army in WWII and retired from the US Postal Service with 35 years of service. Rev. Pierce was the founder of John Paul Scott Community Church; a graduate of William Penn High School, his memberships include the Masonic Family Prince Hall, IBPOEW, NALC, AARP, NARFE, American Legion Post #733, Vikings softball, Lions Semi Pro and Post Office Sports Club all of Harrisburg. He was also the President of IMC; Chaplin of House of Representatives, served on various boards and associations including the NAACP, Allison Hill Community, Governorâs Commission on Domestic Violence and the Catalyst Program. Rev. Pierce leaves his children Karin Fields, Robert Pierce Jr. (Wanda) and Wanda Watson (Kenneth), a sister Edna Mae Mosten, 7 grandchildren, 21 great and 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
