Reverend Andrew T. Bradley Sr. passed on June 5, 2014 at Harrisburg Hospital. He was born on January 4, 1948 to the late James and Elizabeth Bradley. Rev. Bradley received his call into Christian Ministry February of 1964 while a member of Jefferson Memorial First Born Church of the Living God, Johnstown, Pennsylvania under the tutelage of late Bishop Joseph McGauley and Elder Henry Slade. Rev. Bradley was ordained Elder in February of 1971 having established Faith Temple First Born Church in Maysville, North Carolina.
Rev. Bradley began his formal ministry in 1964. He was ordained in two other denominations as well as the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Philadelphia Annual conference 1998 while serving at Bethel AME Church Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was ordained in 1998 and 2003. In 1981 Rev. Bradley transferred to the African Methodist Episcopal Church, ordained a Deacon and served as Associate Pastor for twelve years until appointed Pastor of St. Paul A.M.E. Church Oberlin, Pennsylvania and Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church Columbia, Pennsylvania.
In 1998 Rev. Bradley transferred to the United Methodist Church where he was appointed and received his ordination at Gatchelville Charge; Cross Roads and Prospect Churches in southern York, Pennsylvania. Pastor Bradley also served as Pastor of The Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Tyrone, Pennsylvania; Camp Curtin Memorial-Mitchell United Methodist Church Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and retiring as the Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church Shippensburg, Pennsylvania in 2013. He also served on several conference wide boards and commissions, including the Board of Ordained Ministry and United Methodist Stewardship Foundation Board. Rev. Bradley was also a Veteran of the United States Army.
He received a BA in Behavioral Science, Magna Cum Laude from Shaw University in 1975, MA in Mental Health and Gerontology from the University of the District of Columbia in 1983, MA in Divinity from Lancaster Theological Seminary in 2002.
Rev. Bradley is preceded by his parents and sister, Annie E. Mahone. His is survived by his devoted wife Annice B. Bradley, children; Andrew (Ishreen) Bradley Jr., Elizabeth L. (Donald) King, James C. (Kehli) Bradley, grandchildren; William, James, Salah, Ayre, Ella, Sara, Elijah, one great-grandchild; Dezlyn, siblings; James H. Bradley, Murrell Dean Bradley, Barbara McWhite, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family and friends.
