Ramona Lisa Franklin

Ramona Lisa Franklin-Daniel, 50, transitioned peacefully into eternal life with her immediate family by her side on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Following a long battle with cancer that she fought to the very end. She will always be remembered for her bravery and her faith in God. 

Ramona was born on March 26th, 1973 in Bronx, NY. She was later adopted by Mary and Wilmon Franklin. Eventually, graduated from Synder High School in Jersey City, NJ. In 1994, she decided to move to Harrisburg, PA for a new start.  She dedicated over 18 years working for the Harrisburg School District. As truancy personnel, security guard, custodian and a crossing guard. She also was attending school to become a CNA before she became ill. She married Michael A. Daniel on March 2, 2008. She was a faithful member of the Victory Outreach Fellowship Church.

In November of 2019, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Never allowed this to question her faith. She was a three time cancer survivor. She completed a series of Chemotherapy, radiation treatments and more. On November 18, 2020 she was able to “ring the bell” celebrating her final cancer treatment. It was a very special moment. She was a warrior! Even through her illness she was able to discover her biological mother Florietta Morris with the help of ancestry. Which will forever be a heartwarming memory to us. 

Ramona is survived by her husband Michael A. Daniel. Her children (as she would say “her Fab 5”) Darrell Franklin, Adajah Franklin, Shanice Franklin, Michael T. Daniel and Mikera Daniel. Including her favorite son and daughter in law Shannon Crosson and Tajahrae Chase. Her 11 grandchildren: Jayden, Niayla, Mya, Nyani, Monae, Kartier, Darrell Jr, Ka’oir, Nyomi, Xyla and Karmello.

Ramona is also survived by her sisters and brothers Ramon, Kevin, Rodney, Susanne, Christina, Corrine, Ida. Her closest friends Lenette Brown, Fran Hughes, Samirah Vann, and Beverly Griffin. Also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
