Ralph W. George, 86, passed peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Harrisburg Hospital. Ralph a decorated Army Veteran, receiving numerous service awards including; 2 Bronze Stars, the EAME Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal and the World War II Victory Medal, retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot. Ralph was predeceased by his daughter Patricia Ann George Nichols. He leaves to celebrate his life and memory, 4 children; Ralph W. Jr (Crystal), Bobby and Garth (Beatrice) George and daughter, Stephanie Chambers (Frank), 5 sisters; Carrie and Cora George, Virginia Hughes, Sylvania Penn and Emily Pitts, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a host of relatives and friends. Services for Mr. George will be held on Friday, February 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m., viewing at 10:00 a.m. at The Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 212 N. Progress Ave. with burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The family is appreciative for your love and support, Hooper Memorial, Inc. is caring for and handling Mr. George's arrangements.
