Bishop Paul Troy Veney Sr.

Paul Troy Veney Sr. was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who touched the lives of those around him with his kindness, strength, and unwavering love. Born on January 27, 1941, in Chester, PA, he spent his life dedicated to his family, his community, and his country. After a life filled with love, joy, and meaningful connections, Paul peacefully passed away on September 6, 2023, at his residence in Harrisburg, PA, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 82 years old.

Paul's legacy is one of hard work and commitment. He diligently pursued his education and graduated with a High School Diploma, setting a strong foundation for his future endeavors. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, enlisting on September 24, 1965, and honorably discharged on September 23, 1971, having achieved the rank of SP5 (T).

Throughout his professional career, Paul held the esteemed role of Supervisor at the Commonwealth Department of Welfare in the state of Pennsylvania. His dedication and leadership made a positive impact on the lives of countless individuals and families, reflecting his genuine compassion and desire to uplift those in need.

Ever the doting father, Paul leaves behind a cherished family. His daughters, Lisa Veney and Suszanne Collins, and his sons, Paul Veney Jr. and Daniel Veney, will forever carry his memory in their hearts. His grandchildren, Dwight Flood and Desiree Veney, as well as his great-granddaughter, Naomi Flood, will forever be inspired by his love and guidance.

His faith became stronger in 1952 at age 11 when he was born again. He was called to ministry in 1955 at age 14. In 1957 at age 16 he was licensed to preach and in 1964 at age 23 he was ordained by Bishop O.T. Jones Jr. Paul earned his Master in Christian Ministry at Chesapeake Bible Seminary in June 1999 and his Doctor of Divinity at Freedom Bible College in July 2001.

In honor of Paul's remarkable life, a Graveside Service will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on September 18, 2023, at 10:00 am. This sacred ceremony will pay tribute to his selflessness, courage, and dedication to his fellow soldiers and community. The cemetery, located at Fisher & Clement Ave, Fort Indiantown Gap, PA 17038, will be a place of reflection and reverence as we gather to celebrate the life of a remarkable man.

Paul Troy Veney Sr. will forever be remembered for his unwavering faith, his enduring love, and his commitment to his family. As he joins the ranks of our honored veterans, our hearts are filled with gratitude for his service and the legacy he leaves behind. His memory will forever be treasured, and his spirit will continue to inspire us all.
