Nancy Mae Spradley

  " To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose... "   To our beloved mother, Nancy Mae Johnson Spradley, 86, of Harrisburg, PA., peacefully transitioned into eternal life on Tuesday, November 29, 2011.  Born in Tazewell, VA., she was the eldest daughter of six to the late Fred Theodore Johnson Sr. and Susie Lee Paxton Johnson.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Jr. and her sister, Camilla Johnson Brogdon. Nancy was a retired employee of the Department of Labor & Industry for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  She was also a life-long member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Harrisburg.  Surviving are three children born to the union of the late Donald Charles Spradley Sr., Donna Jo Rawls (Jesse Sr.) of Harrisburg, Charlene Davis (Willie) of Jacksonville, FL and Donald Spadley Jr. (Terry) of Harrisburg; her sisters, Betty Johnson Joiner of Washington D.C. and Lelia Johnson Carter of New York; her brother, Tommy Johnson Sr. of West Virginia; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011 with a viewing at 10am and funeral at 11am with Interment in Paxtang Cemetery.  Father John Bednarik will be officiating.
