Michael Holston, Sr.

We are saddened to announce the passing of Michael Holston, Sr., who transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on March 10, 2025. Michael Holston, Sr. was born on May 18, 1963, to the late Anthony and Barbara Holston in Newark, NJ.

Known to family and friends as “Mike,” “Uncle Michael,” and “Pierre,” he was a beloved son, brother, friend, uncle, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Michael was known for his kind heart — a great man with abundant knowledge and wisdom. He was always there when you needed him, a man of his word.

Michael grew up in Newark, NJ, and went on to attend Job Corps, where he studied to become an electrician. Soon after, he was hired at Benjamin Moore Paint Company, followed by a position at the City of Newark Water & Sewer Department.

He enjoyed martial arts, traveling, music, and mixing on his turntables. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends. Michael was a great leader and listener — deeply loved and truly missed. He was one of a kind.
