Melvyn M. (Reese) Durden II, born on August 14, 1970, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Grace L. Mitchell Durden and Melvyn Durden.

Melvyn graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1989. He grew up attending the Mount Calvary Church of God in Christ in Harrisburg, PA., where he served in the Youth Mass Choir and Superintendent D.R. Gilmore was his Pastor. Melvyn would later move his membership to the Bridge of Faith Church, in Harrisburg, PA., where his Pastor was the late Bishop Larry Harris Sr.

Melvyn was a dedicated man to whatever he decided to do, he enjoyed attending Bible Study and Discipleship class. He was an avid musician that could play many different types of instruments, he also enjoyed going to different gospel concerts.

Melvyn was a great artist and was very precise on how he produced each piece of artwork. He enjoyed detailing cars, big, small, old or new! Melvyn excelled in everything he did and he had a love for creating something out of nothing.

He was also very devoted to his family and friends, making himself available whenever he was needed.

Melvyn will be greatly missed by his sons, Quashawn, Davone, Quamell, (Andreanna) Durden, daughter, Pa’Shance Durden, mother, Grace L. Durden, father, Melvyn Durden, brother, Elliot (Stacy) Durden, dedicated friends, Mr. Jason Elliott, Mr. Kwabena M. Proctor (Cousin), a special friend, Ms. Ashley White, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and a nephew.

 

Masks are necessary and required during services.
