Maurice H. Courts, 75 of Edgemont, closed his eyes peacefully on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in Hershey Medical Center. Maurice retired from Bethlehem Steel with 35 years of dedicated service. He was a longtime member of First Zion Baptist Church of Edgemont; as well served on the Trustee and Usher Board. He also enjoyed his affiliation with Kings Who Cook, Meals on Wheels and the Edgemont Fire House and also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Maurice leaves to cherish his life and memory 5 children; Sonya Woodard of Steelton, Diane White of Harrisburg, Kim Roy of Maryland, Vincent Courts of Middletown and Kenneth Courts of Harrisburg, 2 sisters Carol Thomas and Gwendolyn Brown both of Harrisburg, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 in his church, 1500 Edgemont Road, Harrisburg at 11:00 a.m., viewing at 10:00 a.m. with burial in William Howard Day Cemetery. The family is appreciative of your love and support during their time of sorrow and bereavement, Hooper Memorial, Inc. is handling the arrangements for Mr. Courts.
