Mary Jane Dunbar, 79, passed peacefully at home on Thursday, May 7th, 2009. Born and raised in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Josh and Martha Dunlap. An entrepreneur who owned several stores and shops, she also retired from the PUC for the Commonwealth. She loved to sew, designed hats and attended cake decorating classes where she then began to specialize in cake designing. Mary Jane had a loving heart and treated everyone as if they were one of her own. She was a faithful member of Reclaim The Streets Ministries where she was a member of the Mothers' Board. She was preceded in death by her brother Josh Dunlap and 2 grandchildren; Robert Dunbar and Ginger Dunbar. She leaves to celebrate her life and memory 4 daughters; Terrian Lawrence (Gary), Jerrilyn Cofield (Jerry), Gilinda Cousar (Odell), and Kara Jones (William), 3 sons; Theran Dunbar (Patricia), Phillip Dunbar, and Jeffrey Dunbar (Valerie), and a sister Bernette Lewis, all of Harrisburg; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Services in her honor will be held in her church, 1801 State Street, Harrisburg, on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., viewing at 10:00 a.m. and burial in Paxtang Cemetery.
