Minister Mark A. Grier of Allentown, PA passed peacefully at his home one May 17, 2020 at the age of 57. Born and educated in Harrisburg, PA to Calvin Grier, and to the late Eva (Louise) Grier, and predeceased by his sister Letitia A. Turner. Mark was a student of life that enjoyed reading, music, and a variety of interest. He was a stickler with his appearance, and no matter the occasion, his clothing was always pressed from shorts to a suit.
Mark touched many lives as a caretaker. His entrepreneurial spirit to make life for his family and community better through education both conventional and unconventional; however, Mark believed LIFE was the best teacher. He would often challenge those that he discussed business ideas with by encouraging them to “start where you live”, and empower others to create a stronger self–sufficient community.
Of all the people Mark touched, both the willing and unwilling, his proudest achievements in life are his daughters La Jessica Rainey, Dominique, and Paris Gilliam. Mark also leaves to cherish his memory, his siblings Jerome Glasper, Mary Ross, Calvin Bud Grier, Jr., Loretta Grier, Sheldon Grier and Leslie Grier Kennedy, and further survived by his grandsons, nieces, nephews and a host of many beloved relatives and friends.
Mark will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, an innovative thinker, and champion of self-reliance.
