Marion J. Blackstone

Marion J. Blackstone, 87 of Harrisburg, passed peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2011with her family at her side. Marion was the daughter of the late Alexander and Ada Sanders. She retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Dept. of Transportation and previously worked for the State Hospital.  Marion loved music and playing the piano, she was a Music Director for various churches and in Mechanicsburg. She also belonged to the Huddle Club of John Harris and enjoyed sports. Marion leaves to celebrate her life and memory her children Frances Ross and husband Willie of Harrisburg, Samuel Blackstone of Maryland and John Blackstone also of Harrisburg, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, Hooper Memorial Home at 11:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. viewing and burial in Paxtang Cemetery. The family is appreciative of the many acts of love and kindness shown to them during their bereavement.
