Mamie L. Chism

Mamie L. Chism, 95, formerly of Harrisburg, passed peacefully on July 18, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Camp Hill. She was the daughter of the late Harvey and Elanor Venable. Mamie worked as a child care provided for Dauphin County, a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she served as a Nurses Aid and on the Usher Board. She enjoyed bingo, cards and fishing. Along with her parents she is preceded by her husband Oliver Chism and 5 siblings. Mamie leaves to celebrate her life her children; Barbara Mazo, Freddie Barnes, Charles and Leroy Venable, Rose Banks, Lynette, Dennis, and Ralph Chism; stepson Larry Whitaker; sister Reola Burwell, 27 grand, 39 great-grand, 33 great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Trinity Church of God, 2049 N. 4th St., Harrisburg at 11:00 a.m., viewing 10:00 a.m.
