"There is a place; I have been told, beyond an open gate... " Lucy Flynn Bibby, 87 of Harrisburg, passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in Harrisburg Hospital. Lucy was the daughter of the late Russell and Clara Gibbs and predeceased by her husbands Charles E. Flynn and S. Edwin Bibby. Retiring in 1983, Lucy was and Equal Opportunity Officer for the New Cumberland Army Depot. She was a member of Bethel Village AME Church, serving on the Stewardess Board; had memberships with NAACP, Jinx Club, and Schrinerstown Civic Association; and served on an Advisory Committee of Harrisburg School District. Lucy leaves to celebrate her life and memory her children; Clara Flynn Tolbert and husband George Wood of West Grove, PA, Carol Flynn Malloy and husband William of Wilmington NC, Cynthia Flynn Capers of Akron, OH whose husband Theodore is deceased, Cheryl Flynn Brantley, husband Matthew of Allentown, PA, sister, Priscilla Ritter, husband William of York, PA, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Services will be held in her church, 1721 N. 5th Street, Harrisburg on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., viewing at 10:00 a.m. and burial, William Howard Day Cemetery.
