Lorenzo Ramos Lopez, 38, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024. Lorenzo was born on November 30th, 1985, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was the beloved son of Imanuel Lopez and Virgen Maria Kershaw (Ramos).
Lorenzo's gentle nature and curious spirit were evident from a young age. He had a knack for discovering the world around him, whether through his adventures with the Boy Scouts, his love of music in the choir and school orchestra, or the friendships he made along the way. He spent several formative years at the Milton Hershey School, creating memories and connections that would shape him into the person he became. Lorenzo later transferred to Central Dauphin East, where he graduated in 2004.
After high school, Lorenzo took a gap year to reflect on his path, thoughtfully considering his future. His journey eventually led him to Clarion University of Pennsylvania, where he studied Mass Media Arts and Journalism. Lorenzo's natural ability to connect with others and his desire to understand the world around him guided him through his studies, culminating in a Bachelor's degree.
After graduating from college, Lorenzo moved to Pittsburgh, PA, in 2010, where he began his career in banking with Citizens Bank and later at PNC Bank. During this time, life in Pittsburgh brought him a beautiful surprise—he reconnected with some old college friends, eventually leading him to Ashley Lopez (Hayward). It was in the late summer of 2011 when Lorenzo and Ashley met, and it didn't take long for them to realize they were kindred spirits. Their connection grew quickly, blossoming into a deep love that led to their engagement. They were married on October 7th, 2017, in a heartfelt ceremony surrounded by family and friends in Pittsburgh.
Lorenzo's gift for connecting with people was undeniable. Whether he was helping clients at PNC Bank or later at PA Health and Wellness, his warmth and genuine interest in others always shone through. Lorenzo's love for people extended beyond his day job; he also worked part-time as a server at Bahama Breeze. When friends asked why he took on such a demanding side job, his answer was simple—he just loved meeting new people, and the money was a bonus, too. For Lorenzo, every interaction was an opportunity to make someone's day a little brighter and to learn something new.
Lorenzo's adventurous spirit and passion for life were evident in his love for music and travel. He was truly the life of the party, embracing every moment with a spirit of joy and a heart full of laughter. Whether he was lighting up the dance floor, striking up conversations with new friends or kicking back on a Sunday Funday, Lorenzo made sure to live his life to the fullest. His love for music and travel was infectious, and he poured his energy into creating unforgettable memories with those he loved. One of his greatest joys was the annual trips with his "bro squad," for which he would carefully curate a special playlist that set the tone for each adventure. Some of his favorite travel destinations included the vibrant culture of Cuba, the stunning beauty of Curaçao, and the breathtaking landscapes of Colorado.
Lorenzo's legacy is one of love and laughter, a testament to the warmth and joy he brought to others. Cherishing his memory are Ashley; his sisters, Kasia and Lizzie; his bonus dad, Jeff; his godchildren, Cali, Cassidy, Harrison, Caylee, and TJ; his nieces, Royalty, Shenell, Olivia, and Jordan; and his nephews, Verne, MJ, and Tahkai; along with countless family members and friends.
Preceding Lorenzo in death are his mother, Maria; his brother, Imanuel; his grandparents; and Baby Lopez.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 28th at 4:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 5:00 p.m. at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. in Harrisburg, PA. Lorenzo's spirit will forever be remembered and celebrated by all who had the privilege to know him.
Please keep the Lopez Family in your thoughts and prayers during their time of bereavement.
