Linda Jane (Harmon) Eshenauer

Linda Jane (Harmon) Eshenauer, affectionately known as “MeMe” was born May 15, 1949, to the late Joseph K. and Alice Harmon (Monroe). She entered into eternal rest on December 6, 2021, at home with her beloved daughter and best friend by her side. Linda was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate Bruce D. Eshenauer, her mother Alice Harmon (Monroe), her father Joseph K. Harmon Sr., and her beloved son Scott A. Harmon.

Throughout her life Linda was a natural philanthropist helping countless people, organizations and local revitalization projects. Among the things she will most be remembered for are her passion for reading and helping others develop their reading, writing and comprehension skills. She was also involved in the Maclay Street project that brought over 300 units of affordable housing for low-income families into the Uptown Harrisburg-area. In addition to her volunteer work prior to retirement, Linda worked many years as an income case manager for the Department of Public Welfare for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania where she was loved and admired by her coworkers and clients alike.

Left to mourn Linda’s memory are her brother Joseph (Fran) Harmon, daughter Nicole (Bernard) Dow, grandchildren Canar Morrison, L. Micah Williams, Zahir Dow, Ayan Penn, Bernard Richardson, Tristen Dow, T.J. Zane, Jessica Bivens, Julie and Truman Eshenauer; stepchildren Tracy Eshenauer, Toby (Julissa) Eshenauer and her step-children from her previous marriage, Elvira (Kevin) Drayton, Wonder (Tina) Morrison and Bobby (Georgette) Morrison, a host of grandchildren and god daughter, Monica Banks.
