It is with heavy hearts and great Peace that the family of Linda J. Brown-Williams announces her home going. She left us peacefully surrounded by love and family.
Linda graduated from William Penn High School, pursued a degree in Elementary Education at Cheyney State College and received her MHS from Lincoln University. In her tireless efforts to educate, enlighten, and empower she was employed by and retired from the Philadelphia School District. She continued to shine in her community with her work at Carson Valley School. After a brief move to Georgia, she returned to the Harrisburg area and became a GED teacher at the Female Offender Program of Dauphin County. After receiving her Master's degree she returned to her Alma Mater as a counselor for the Act 101 program; later returning to Harrisburg as a drug and alcohol counselor at Gaudenzia House.
Linda's ongoing commitment to service impacted her community as she served as Deaconess at Wesely Union AME Zion church and also on the Board of Education. She was a member of the choir at Wesley and at Cheyney where she used her voice to spread the joy and the love of God's Word.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Joseph and Marion Brown, her brothers William - Joyce (Jones), Robert Sr. - Romaine (Pollard), Joseph -Theresa (Friday), and Donald - Brenda (Lemar) Brown. She leaves behind husband Rev. Dr. Alfred Williams, daughters Ayanna Iman and Francine Hardeman; grandson Elijah Iman, sister Denise Ala'ilima; and a host of family and friends.
