Leon Samuel John Stewart

Leon S. J. Stewart, 96 of Lower Paxton Township passed peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2013 in Harrisburg Hospital.  He was born in Arcadia, PA and the 9th child of the late William and Sophia Stewart.  The family moved to Marietta, PA, Leon graduated from Marietta High School and Virginia Union University. He served in the US Coast Guard in World War II, enlisting in 1943. Leon was a member of Capital Presbyterian Church, an Elder and retired from Mechanicsburg Army Depot as a Personnel Specialist in 1972.  Brother Stewart was a 33ºdegree Mason, Past Master of Columbia Lodge, Lincoln Valley #93. He was a resident of Harrisburg and survived by his wife Kaye of 70 years, his daughter Beverly, her husband and four children; Ckori, Cama-Kalee, Cameron and Caresta all of Maryland, along with several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held at Hooper Memorial Home on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 9:30 a.m., Masonic Services at 9:00 a.m., interment with honors at Indiantown Gap.
