Lawrence Edward Vaughan was born on Tuesday May 9 1939, in Richmond Virginia, to the late Jefferson and Alice (Ford) Vaughan. The family migrated to the north when Lawrence was around eight or nine years of age and began to call Harrisburg, PA home.

Lawrence was educated in the Harrisburg school system and then enlisted into the Army National Guard at age 19, where he served for eight years. He worked construction for many years and was skilled in electrical work. Lawrence later obtained employment at the New Cumberland Army Depot; he became a Supervisor in the transportation and shipping department where he later retired after more than 25 years.

Lawrence enjoyed bartending, gardening, fishing, electrical work, jazz,blues and gospel music.

Lawrence passed away on Monday April 23 2018 at home surrounded by family and friends.

He leaves to mourn his passing wife Patricia Vaughan, children; Loretta Turner (Steven), Lawrence Love (Petrie), step daughter Katherine Rivers (Marcus), brother, Melvin Vaughan, family friend Wanda Page, 11 grand, 8 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Lawrence loved well, and was greatly loved by all who knew him.
