Lawrence Robert Martinez was born in Harrisburg, PA on June 5, 1960 to the late Phyllis Marie Davis Martinez Green and Lawrence Campbell. Lawrence lived his entire life in Harrisburg where he was reared by his mother and Prudencio R. Martinez, Jr. He peacefully transitioned into eternal life on June 16, 2016.
Lawrence received his formal education in the Harrisburg School District. He sought to further his education through additional training and studies. His employment was as varied and unique as he was. He held a number of positions including Meals on Wheels, a laborer for Local Union No. 1180, and, most recently, with his brother Zacharyâs company, Jackson Janitorial Services. In his leisure time, Lawrence loved to play chess, fish, garden, cook and bake for his loved ones.
He leaves to cherish his life, his wife Rosie Martinez; his favorite aunt, Carol Gamble; his daughter, Martisa Monroe (Leonard) of Florida; his siblings, Zachary (David) Jackson, (Marcia), Carol Bullock (Michael), Jeanine Mesarick (Joseph) and Prudencio R. Martinez, III, all of Harrisburg; one grandson Major, of Florida; Larry Green, whom he affectionately called Pop; and a host of other relatives and friends. Lawrence will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
