Lauretta M. Palmer, 94, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2023. She was a resident at Brookdale East Mesa Senior Living Center, in Mesa, AZ. She was born October 24, 1928, in Steelton, PA, the daughter of the late Edward and Irmine (Crampton) Sullivan. She attended Harrisburg public schools.
Lauretta was married to the late Charles H. Palmer, Sr. for fifty-one years as he predeceased her in 1999. While married, she was employed for many years by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Driver License Center until her retirement. After retirement Lauretta enjoyed being an avid homemaker. She loved to cook and go shopping. She was a member of Eastern Star, and enjoyed bus trips to see musical productions, especially those at Sight and Sound. She was loved by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, and enjoyed grand Christmas celebrations with family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lauretta was predeceased by her sister, Mrs. Lois Weaver and her son, Charles H. Palmer, Jr.
Lauretta is survived by a son, Edward R. Sullivan, Sr. (Evelina) who resides in Harrisburg, PA and a daughter, Mrs. Cathleen Tomb (Daniel) who lives in Mesa, AZ. In addition, her daughter-in-law, Dr. Jacqueline Palmer, of Columbia, MD and her niece, Dr. Diana Vereen (Larry) residing in Carlisle, PA. She is survived by eight grandchildren: Maria Lewis, Edward R. Sullivan, Jr., Eric Tomb, Geoffrey Tomb, Lauren Palmer, Cassandra Palmer Okoya, Phyllicia R. Sullivan, John Sullivan, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, other relatives and friends.
