Laura M. Watt

Laura Marie Watt (86), of Harrisburg, was born on September 9, 1938, to the late Elbert Watt and Hattie Mae Settle in Reidsville, NC. She transitioned peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, with her family by her side.

Throughout her life, Laura enjoyed gardening, collecting fish, and thrift shopping. In her spare time, she loved visiting her favorite shops and farmers' markets and tending to her plants. Laura served on the board of the union throughout her 30+ year tenure at American Air Filters in Elizabethtown, PA, from where she retired. She was also the best prep cook Hardee’s ever had, known for her peach cobbler, biscuits, and chicken. In addition to gardening, Laura loved reading and watching her westerns.

When she was home, she cherished having her family around her. She had a giving spirit, always helping others and striving to keep her family united regardless of circumstances. She especially enjoyed spending time with the babies in her family, often holding them for hours when she could. She has left us with countless cherished memories to reminisce upon.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings and children, Bernard and Marvin Hunter. She lives on through her children: Hazel, Eric, Donna, Dennis, and Veronica, as well as her bonus eldest son, Dennis Hunter. She is also survived by many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her loving nieces, nephews, and extended family will always hold her memory dear.

Ms. Watt’s Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc., 3532 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA 17109, followed by burial at William Howard Day Cemetery, 801 Lincoln Street, Steelton, PA 17113.
