Karen L. Smith, 52 of Harrisburg, passed peacefully on August 25, 2014 in Osteopathic Community General Hospital. Karen was the daughter of Ann M. Fells and the late Milton H. Brown and predeceased by her brother Michael Fells. Karen was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School and Shippensburg University; employed at Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency as an Assistant Manager of Counseling and Education with 25 years of service. She was also a member of Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church and served of various ministries including; Hospitality, Usher Board, Vessels of Worship and the Scholarship Committee. Karen was also active in the Coalition of 100 Black Women and enjoyed reading, exercising, traveling and shopping. She leaves to celebrate her life and memory her devoted husband Ronald K. Smith, her son Jaren Tucker both of Harrisburg, her mother Ann Fells of Harrisburg, siblings Nancie Fells of Wilkes-Berre, Juanita Underwood of Oberlin, Stanley Fells of Washington and Gene Fells of York, a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
