Karen Darlene Crummel, 65, born February 20, 1956 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Anna Mae Crummel and George James Crummel Sr. Karen transitioned into eternal glory on Monday, May 17, 2021 in the comfort of her home. She graduated from Harrisburg High School, Class of 1974. She attended Harrisburg Area Community College & Empire Beauty School. Karen was employed at Reese’s, Olivetti, Mechanicsburg Navy Depot, and New Cumberland Army Depot.
Karen was a beautiful person with a BIG Heart, often covering up by her fiery spirit. While attending Harrisburg High; Karen was a member of the track team and was a part of the Mile Relay Team and rerunning the quarter mile. Her favorite pastime was shopping, and she was known for finding unique quality clothing, furniture, household décor etc., all at bargain prices. She loved music, having a good time, and caring for her nieces & nephews, especially her niece Amber “Brose” and her children Doots, Tydie Man, Kora D, Fatter Ratter & Stinkum. God knows she loved them all and went above and beyond for them. They could always count on Aunt Karen.
Karen was predeceased in death by her parents, and by her siblings Melton D. Crummel, John Wallace, and Tony Wallace.
She leaves to cherish her memory her one and only son Jamal “Top Daug” Crummel, her grandson Taraja Smith, whom she loved dearly, one grandaughter, her godson; Mike Trayham, four brothers; George J. Crummel Jr., Anthony Crummel, Wayne (Nina) Wallace, Mark (Shirley) Palmer, two sisters; Joy Elaine Prestion and Peggy (Chio) Sheppard, her lifetime friends; Girls Taking Over (GTO’s), Crystal Alli, Aundrea Ausberry, Leona McNeil, Bevely Burhannon, Sylvia (Chubb) Regal, RIP Mattie Carter, Including special friends; Linda Jackson, Veronica Belcher, Connie McBride, Deidra Walker. and sister in law Bonita Crummel. In addition to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Respectfully Submitted,
The Family
