John F. Ringler, Sr.

John F. Ringler, Sr., born November 10, 1928, of Harrisburg, formerly of Montgomery and Trout Run, PA passed peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on January 15, 2015 at home, Harrisburg, PA. John was recently preceded in death by his wife Pearl of 61 years.  He is survived by his 6 children: Christine (Charles), Debra (Tony), Patricia (Charles), John Jr. (Candy), Susan (Jerry), Nancy (Terrel).  He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and his sister Emma Jane. John proudly served his country from 1951 – 1953 in the Second Armored Division.  He retired from Hermance Machine Company and Avco Lycoming. He was a wonderful and very devoted husband and father.  He enjoyed being outdoors, cutting down trees on RinglerMountain to heat their home and often usedsome of the wood for his many wood projects.  John made many replicas of local buildings such as the Trout Run Church and C.R. Berger Millfor his JPR Garden Railway for all to see.  He would give his train remote to many a small child who found they loved to run the trains and blow the whistle as much as Conductor John did. John enjoyed square dancing with his lovely wife and friends.  He taught his children everything from fixing and driving cars, to ice skating to gardening and wood crafting. His legacy will never be forgotten as we all have a piece of him in our hearts to carry us to the end of our days.  We love you and salute you brave soldier, march onward and upward, your Heavenly Father awaits you!
