In Loving Memory of Joe Logan
Joe Logan, 85, peacefully passed away on November 8th, 2024, at his home in Harrisburg, PA.
Born on November 28, 1938, in Sumter, SC, Joe was the son of the late Elijah Logan and Rosa Lee Hicks.
Joe received his primary education in Sumter, SC, and began his career working at the Penn Harris Hotel and Gulf Gas Station before transitioning to a career as a bus driver with CAT (formerly Capital Area Transit System). He worked for many years at CAT before retiring in 2004.
Joe was a man who lived life fully. He was known for his love of the golf course, a member of the Gator gang golf club, Constitution of the long drivers golf club, frequent visits to casinos to play the slots, and his deep devotion to his family. He had an infectious sense of humor that brightened any room he walked into. Whether on the golf course, at a family gathering, or telling stories with friends, Joe's presence was always felt. He had an easygoing nature and a way of making people feel comfortable and appreciated.
Joe is survived by his sons Stanley L. Logan, Graig S. Logan, and Steve Waller; his daughters Denise Y. Logan and Jennifer Waller; his grandchildren Tanique Logan, Graig S. Logan Jr., Brittney A. Logan, Francesca L. Waller, Samantha M. Waller, Si'rhan J. Logan, Alexandra Wilkerson, Kenny Wilkerson Jr., and Jaysen Wilkerson; great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Annabelle Singleton, Elizabeth Roach, Viola Roach, Rosalee Johnson, Alberta Leggett, Lila Mae Clayton, Emma Logan, Katie Hicks, Elise Logan, Irene Hicks, Eliza Logan, Sarah Prioleau, and his brothers Wyndham J. Logan, Ferdinand Hicks, James Logan ll, Charles Logan, David Logan, Harry Prioleau, Joe was also preceded in death by his son Adrian Samuels, and his grandchild Malcolm Logan.
The service for Joe Logan will be held on Thursday, November 21st at 11:00 AM at Walter Hooper Memorial Chapel, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at William Howard Day Cemetery, Steelton, PA.
Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
