Jody Lynn Wood

Jody Wood, 58, of Paxtang, passed away on October 11, 2024, in Harrisburg, PA after a year and a half battle with Adrenal Cancer. Jody was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, and friend- and will be greatly missed.

Jody was born on May 16, 1966, in York, PA, to Michael Riley and Barbara Smith.

Jody was a graduate of Spring Grove High School and Elizabethtown College. She worked her whole career at the Penn State College of Medicine and loved her job and coworkers in their Simulation Center.

Jody married Michael Wood in 2007 and raised three wonderful children together: Elizabeth Henry, Caleb Henry, and Samuel Wood.

Jody loved to read, particularly Jane Austen and Agatha Christie. You could always find her with a cup of tea and a book. She loved to dance, listen to music, and ride horses. She was smart, beautiful, caring, and curious about the world around her.

In addition to their husband and children, Jody is survived by her mother, Barbara Smith; father, and step-mother, Michael and Linda Riley; aunt, Lucinda Glassmoyer; and cousin, Ashley McGettigan, and her family.

The service for Jody Wood will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, at 11:00 AM at Walter Hooper Memorial Chapel, with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM.
