Joan Myrtle Gilchrist

"There is a place I've been told, beyond an open gate" Mother Joan Myrtle Gilchrist, 78 of Homeland Nursing Center went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 22, 2007 in Harrisburg Hospital. Joan was born to the late Grace and William Dockens, employed by Harrisburg School District and a member of 12 Stones Congregation of COGIC. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Gilchrist and two sons, Frank and Gino. Joan leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters, Julie Fleming, Annette Mathis-Artis and Felice Mathis-Mosley, 2 sons, Andre and Dondi Mathis, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren, 2 sisters Rella Thompson and Marva Dockens of Harrisburg with nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Services will be held at Trinity Church of God, 2049 N. 4th Street on Monday, December 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., viewing at 10:00 a.m. and burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, the family greatly appreciates your love and support during their time of bereavement.
