Celebrating the life of Jeannette Elizabeth “Granny” Wilbern

Jeannette Wilbern, 65 Harrisburg, passed peacefully on Monday March 25, 2016 at home with her love George, by her side. She was the daughter of the late Robert Martin Sr. and Bessie May Lawrence and was reared in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Jeannette loved to love on people. But she also told people when they’re wrong regardless of how the person may feel afterward. She was straight forward and stayed strong. She sewed and knitted clothes, sheets, and quilts constantly. Her hands were rarely still. She loved to complete crossword puzzles, and word searches. Jeannette was a dedicated mother to all. She treasured children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Granny. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went.

Along with her parents she is also predeceased by her daughter Eva White, sisters; Vanessa Martin and Ernestine Yarrell. She leaves to celebrate her life and memory, her children, Donella and her husband Arthur Miles, David and his wife Lenita Babil, sister, Suzanne Yarrell, brother Robert Martin Jr., John Martin and his wife Karen, 7 grandchildren, Kevin, Da’nayshia, Da’Mear, Zai’Anna, Da'Sani, Destinee, Leilah, 2 great grandchildren, De’Onni, Da’Cari as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Jeannette will be sorely missed by all those who loved her.
