Jeanette S. Hayes

"Once in a lifetime you find a friend who not only touches your heart but also your soul" Jeanette S. Hayes 94, widow of the late Jasper G. Hayes, passed peacefully in Community General Hospital on Saturday, February 2, 2008. She was a retired educator from the Craven School District in New Bern, NC, a member of the St. Cyprians Episcopal Church, a Charter member of the New Bern, NC Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and also loved reading and horticulture. She leaves two daughters Charlene H. Davis and Gloria H. Peterson, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren in addition to numerous relatives and friends. Viewing and visitation for Ms. Hayes will be held at Hooper Memorial Home, Inc. on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 11a.m. Funeral Services will held in her church Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 9 a.m. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in New Bern, NC. The family greatly appreciates all of your acts of kindness and condolences in their time of bereavement.
