Jane Ann Wilson, 95 of Harrisburg, PA, transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 24, 2024. Jane was born on March 31, 1928, in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of the late William Snowden and Sara Elizabeth Scribbner Snowden.
Jane was a resident at the Capital Rehabilitation Center (formerly the Jewish Home) on Linglestown Road for fifteen years. She was baptized at St. Paul Missionary Baptist church and attended until her health would not permit. Jane retired from The Department of Revenue as a Tax Examiner after thirty-five years of dedicated service. Jane, nicknamed “Jimmie”, enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing, and was known for her beautiful artwork.
Along with her parents she was preceded by her husband, Harold W. Wilson, and her daughters Susan J. Marsh and Leah DeRoiste. She leaves to celebrate her life, her children Gloria Martin-Roberts (Harrisburg), Clifford L. Martin, Jr. (Lancaster), Elizabeth Martin (Harrisburg), Carolyn Holly (Columbus, Ohio), and Kenneth Martin (Terri) (Harrisburg). Her children acknowledge their bonus siblings Harold W. Wilson, Jr. (Lebanon), Richard Wilson (Harrisburg), and Pamela Roberts (Michael) (Harrisburg). She also leaves to celebrate her life, grandchildren James Marsh, Leah S. Payne, Dara DeRoiste, Nathaniel Martin, Anthony Payne, Danielle Martin, Sinead DeRoiste, Cindy Martin, Michelle Agnon, Clifford L. Martin, III, and Akilah Alcendor. She has nineteen great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family extends a sincere thanks to a man who took loving care of our mother while she was in the Jewish Home. A man who treated our mom like she was his mother with tenderness and care. You made her smile, especially when celebrating her birthdays. We salute you Jack Walker and pray that God will expand your borders for the love you gave to one of his.
