"Irene Washington 71 of North 15th Street passed from the loving arms of her family to the warm embrace of God on Wednesday October 27, 2010. She was a retired employee of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, member of the Greater Zion missionary Baptist Church, entrepreneur who loved singing and the culinary arts. Releasing her to God's loving arms are her devoted children Lorene Cook, Tony, Lessie, Larry and Charlene Washington, Elizabeth Hill and five siblings; Jessie Rhondes, Carrie Mae Washington, Harry, Joe and President Chislom. In addition to her immediate family are eight grand and thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Irene's services, conducted by the Directors Lance and Angela Ulen of the Hooper Memorial Home Inc. will be Tuesday November 2, 2010 in the funeral home at 11AM with viewing at 10. Her final resting place will be in Paxtang Cemetery.
