Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. Alfonso A. Santana, 89 of Columbia Ave., passed peacefully at home amongst relatives and friends Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. He was a retired employee of the Bethlehem Steel Company and member of the Edgemont Volunteer Fire Department. He loved family, fishing, gardening and wine making. Missing him but letting him go are his beloved children Maria Torres, Carmen Gonzalez ,Gloria Bazabe, Bessy Ortiz, Rosa Lewis, Alfonso Albino and Carleta Santana-Letterlough, Judith DeSalle; thirty grand; fifty eight great-grand and nine great-great grandchildren with a host of relatives and friends in addition to his devoted dog Poncho. He was predeceased by his sisters Gloria Rodriguez, Antonia Rodriguez,and brother Luis Albino Services will be on Friday January 18th in the Hooper Memorial Home Inc. at 7PM with viewing at 6. His final resting place will be in Harrisburg East Cemetery on Saturday.
